A little warning before you read this week’s letter:This episode of StRest might make you push back.

And honestly… that’s one of my goals.

One of the reasons I started StRest is to help you ask better questions about your health, your faith, and your life. Not to tell you what to think — but to help you think more deeply about what’s right for your body and your calling.

So, if you have opinions after this one… bring them on.

But first, a quick life update.

Our house is slowly returning to normal after a full mold remediation and a not-so-glamorous lice situation. Real life over here.

Now we’re onto the next chapter: finding a new (to us) car. With a new driver in the house (yay Grace), I’m officially done with my high-maintenance SUV. I want something simple, safe, and low-maintenance. If you have a car you absolutely love, send recommendations my way.

While my family waits for the weather to finally shift from four-wheel drive season to boat season, here’s something that might be worth looking into right now.

Before Your Next Mammogram or MRI… Read This.

On this week’s StRest, I sit down withDr. Jenn Simmons — former breast cancer surgeon, integrative oncologist, author of The Smart Woman’s Guide to Breast Cancer.

This conversation is bold, honest, and incredibly eye-opening. She says we should not be getting yearly mammograms and MRI’s and the data proves it!

Dr. Jenn shares why she believes women need to rethink what we’ve been told about:

• Mammograms and routine screening

• Early detection

• Dense breast tissue

• Family history and risk

• Overdiagnosis vs. improving survival

She also shares how her own cancer diagnosis completely changed the way she practices medicine.

We talk about something many women feel but rarely say out loud:Fear often drives medical decisions.

We also get practical and discuss:

• Self-breast exams

• Inflammation and stress

• Alcohol and environmental toxins

• Sleep, movement, and purpose

• New screening technologies like the ARIA tear test and QT imaging

If you care about prevention, informed decisions, and advocating for your own health — this episode is worth your time.

“If God did everything we wanted, He wouldn’t be God.We would be.”

Also on StRest - My friend Anna said this in the middle of a conversation about unanswered prayer and I had to stop for a second.

So often we spend our energy telling God what to do instead of asking Him what He is doing.

If you’ve ever wrestled with waiting, surrender, or trusting God in hard seasons, this episode is for you.
