Holy Spirit Moments in Mold

Hear me out… the Holy Spirit is moving through our mold.
So many things we casually label as coincidence are often the Holy Spirit gently connecting dots long before we realize it.
Last summer, I had Admiral Doug Fears on the podcast. He was the first in a growing line of guests who came on to share health science on StRest, and ended up having a story of mold and Lyme illness. Dr. Pompa. Dr. Edwards. Dr. John Leirance. Others too. Each of them walked us through their healing stories, and somewhere along the way, mold played a role.
And it didn’t stop with podcast guests.
I began to notice a pattern in my health-coaching clients. Symptoms that didn’t quite add up. Testing that kept pointing in the same direction. Mold exposure. Positive results. Again and again.
Still, I never once thought this would be me.
I had no symptoms. None. Much of the reason why is, I was doing “all the right things.” Clean products. Mold-free coffee. Very clean eating. Daily movement. Regular sauna. I was actively reducing my family’s toxic load and I continue to feel strong, energized, and healthy.
Yes, we’ve always had a damp corner in the basement. And yes, I could see some mold. But like many people, I brushed it off. “It’s fine. Everyone has mold,” my husband would say. And honestly, I believed that too—because my body wasn’t complaining.
But when enough arrows keep pointing in the same direction, wisdom (and the Holy Spirit!) says you pay attention.
What finally moved me to act wasn’t fear—it was motherhood.
My daughter has been on her own health journey for many years. I knew that if mold showed up for me, it likely meant exposure for her too. So I got tested.
And there it was.
I tested positive for high levels of Ochratoxin A.
Now here’s the part that may surprise you: I didn’t panic. I’m not spiraling. I’m not afraid.
Despite having mold in my body, I have zero symptoms. I am genuinely healthy. And that matters.
That resilience is the fruit of years of stewarding my health well—genetics, yes, but also clean nutrition, consistent movement, good sleep, stress management, and regular detox support. My body is strong and adaptive.
But strong doesn’t mean invincible.
As one of the physicians I recently interviewed for an upcoming episode of StRest explained, someone like me can be a “ticking time bomb.” An illness. A trauma. A major stressor. One switch flipped—and suddenly those silent pathways become very loud.
So no, I’m not ignoring this.
I’m grateful.
I’m grateful that God placed me in this work. Grateful for health coaching. Grateful for StRest. Grateful for access to testing, brilliant doctors, and cutting-edge research. Grateful that awareness came before symptoms.
And I’m deeply committed to sharing everything I learn with you—because that is why God has put me here.
For now, I am healthy and symptom-free. And I intend to keep it that way.
That means addressing the mold in our home first (already not cheap, but worth it)… and then gently, intentionally addressing the mold in my body.
Thank the Lord, the Holy Spirit is in the mold.
Side note: Social media algorithms on Instagram and Facebook don’t love long-form content, so the best place to truly follow this mold journey—along with the health science and biblical truth I’m researching—is on YouTube. Make sure you’re subscribed.
And if you want even more—weekly exclusives, behind-the-scenes content, extended cuts, community access, workshops, mini-courses, and member-only monthly livestreams with me—I’d love for you to join our growing membership.
Thank you for being with me as we get healthy and closer to Jesus.
