Breathe into your Lumen to get a real-time view of whether you're burning mostly fat or carbs, so you can understand the impact of your lifestyle on your metabolism.
1. Measure your metabolism first thing in the morning
When you wake up—before food, coffee, or exercise—take a breath test with your Lumen device. This tells you whether your body is burning fat (ideal during fasting) or carbs.
🟢 Fat burn = your body is in a fasting state and using stored energy.🔴 Carb burn = your body is still processing your last meal or stressed.
This reading helps you know if you're ready to break your fast or if your body is still in a good fat-burning zone.
2. Use Lumen to decide when to break your fast
Lumen gives you the power to listen to your body, not the clock. For example:
If you're still burning fat at 11am, you may want to extend your fast.
If your reading shows you're burning carbs unexpectedly, it might be time to eat, reduce stress, or get more sleep tonight.
This turns fasting into a flexible, intuitive practice—not a rigid rule.
3. Check in during your fast (optional)
You can take another breath measurement mid-morning to see how your metabolism is progressing. If you’re still burning fat, that’s a sign your body is adapting well to fasting.
4. Measure before and after your first meal
Use Lumen just before you break your fast, then again 1–2 hours after eating. This shows you how your body responds to the meal:
Did you stay in fat burn?
Did carbs spike your metabolism?
Was your meal too heavy or just right?
This is where real metabolic learning happens. You’ll begin to fine-tune what foods work best for you when breaking a fast.
